THE CELLS IN THE HUMAN BODY

The cell is the smallest unit of life, it performs the three vital functions: nutrition, interaction and reproduction.

Unicellular living things are made up of only one cell.

Multicellular living things are made up of two or more cells.

• Cells with the same function group into tissues.
• Different tissues together make an organ.
• Different organs working together form a system.
• The body (organism) is made up of different systems working together.

Cells with different functions are different, for example: Muscle cells, nerve cells or skin (epithelial) cells.

RECUERDA

La célula es la unidad más pequeña de la vida, realiza las tres funciones vitales: nutrición, interacción y reproducción.

Los seres vivos unicelulares están formados por una sola célula.

Los seres vivos pluricelulares están formados por dos o más células.

• Las células con la misma función se agrupan en tejidos.
• Diferentes tejidos juntos forman un órgano.
• Diferentes órganos trabajando juntos forman un sistema.
• El cuerpo (organismo) está formado por diferentes sistemas que funcionan conjuntamente.

Las células con funciones diferentes son diferentes, por ejemplo: Células musculares, células nerviosas o células de la piel (epiteliales).
